If you are lucky enough to have located a good usable donor then this page will provide you with  a complete list of what is included in the Base Donor Mk4 Replica Kit.

There are many options that can be added to these cars and the best way to gain a complete understanding of what your “Ideal Cobra” would cost to build is to sign up for the WCC mail list using the blue panel on the right. When you do so you gain access to subscriber only in-line interactive work sheets that allow you to option your Cobra as you  envision it and as you do so the spread sheet will price your build for you.

Experience tells us that IF you stick to the plan you embodied in the spread sheet, and that’s hard to do, you will build the car for within $1500 of what the sheet shows. (assuming of course that your estimates for Paint etc are in line with costs in your area)

Complete list of Included parts in thebBase kit follows. Note that Items listed in Red Text are parts that Factory Five is required by the Cdn Federal DOT to remove from the kit in order to allow them to be shipped into Canada. All of the removed parts are readily available from alternate sources.

• Frame: Complete jig-welded original style 4”
  round tube frame.  Includes all mounts ready to accept small block Ford and
  1987-2004 Mustang running gear.  Kit can be ordered to accept a wide variety of
  engines/suspensions.

  comes ready to use Mustang lower control arm/spindle and brakes.

• Rear Suspension:  Mk4 base kit includes rear
  axle brackets, fasteners and axle straps to mount your Mustang 8.8” rear solid
  axle and brakes. Comes with all fasteners and hardware required to
  install.

 

• Brake/Fuel Lines:  Base kit comes with
  pre-flared brake fuel lines, (3/16”, 1/4″ and 5/16”) and
  fasteners to use OEM Ford
  Mustang fuel tank and system.  Includes polished vintage Aston LeMans flip top
  gas cap, integral modern fuel pressure cap and adaptor kit.  Fuel lines,
  connectors, filler neck and fasteners
  • Pre-flared fuel lines (1/4” and 5/16”) w/unions, barbs,
    hose clamps and high press flex lines and fasteners
  • Aston LeMans original polished aluminum fuel cap with
    integral pressure cap, gaskets, ground strap, fuel hose to tank

• Steering Kit:  Steering adapter kit to utilize
  Mustang steering rack includes upper shaft, pillow blocks, flange bearings,
  fasteners, lower shaft and u-joints.  Features a collapsible sterring shaft,
  Vintage wood and aluminum steering wheel w/aluminum boss, center section and
  badge.

• 87-95 Mk4 Roadster Assembly Manual:  Bound
  assembly manual that is over 200 pages long.

 

• Fasteners:  Over 1500 top quality zinc plated,
  chrome and stainless steel USS and SAE fasteners, numbered and packed
  individually by assembly.

 

Notes regarding 1996-2004 Mustang Donor Cars:

Owing to the complexity of different Mustang parts from 1987 to 2004, we have two simple
packages that address these parts differences.  Basically, all the kit parts
that we provide are interchangeable except for a few items.  Customers who use
Mustang parts from 1996 to 2004 get a few extra parts and don’t need some
others.  Parts identified in the preceding list with an asterisk * are
replaced with the following parts for customers using 1996-2004 donor cars. 

 

1. Ignition Switch:  Includes the key, switch and
   electrical connectors to use with 96-04 parts.
2. Brake Hydroboost Mount Assembly:
   For customers using
   96-04 Hydroboost brakes.  Includes tool.
3. 96-04 Radiator Mounting
   Assembly
4. 4.6L Oil Pan and Transmission Mount
   Assembly:  The
   later model oil pans are too low. 
5. Fuel Filler Tube Assembly and
   Radiator Hose Assembly
6. A/C Eliminator Bracket
   Assembly and Air Filter Mount Assembly
